Diploma Preservation

Just thinking about that your treasured framed-diploma, which loads great sentimental value becomes deteriorated with the time going, will you feel a little sad? The diploma condition will be much better if you consider the benefits of preservation.
How to care for your diplomas or certificates when you want to frame them? You’d better take the following two steps into account:

  • Manufacture Process. You may find that there will be some little yellow spots on your diploma after years. That is caused by the acid, which may be given out from the mat/back boards of poor quality, or come from the air. So, first you could choose acid-free or PH neutral mat and back boards, which will not give out harmful acid; and then you are advised to think about glazing, which will prevent not only acid but also dust in the air from coming into frames. Your diploma might expand or shrink with the changes of temperature and humidity. We always mount them to avoid this problem. It may be hard to converse if they are fully mounted. But there are preservation alternatives that you may mount them in some revisable ways.
  • Display Conditions.Light, such as ultraviolet light rays, temperature and humidity — all these elements will affect your framed diploma. So please be cautious to determine where to display it. A relatively dry place without being irradiated directly by the light is a nice choice. Using UV-blocking glass will also be helpful.

New Moulding: a combination of wood and metal

Most people tend to be oblivious of old diploma frames hanging on the wall. And they are partially entitled to. A well-made diploma frame does not need constant maintenance. However, if one thinks the diploma frames will look good forever , they will be terribly mistaken. On one hand, framing materials and procedures are ever-improving, thus a diploma framed for a long time does not fit into today’s trend. On the other hand, the diploma may not be in a good condition. Their color may have faded or they may cockle and warp. What’s worse, they may have been attacked by pests.
